Des Moines.

Lately, I haven't found the time to write a decent blog about things that are going on in my life. So I decided that today would be the day to pick it up again. To be honest, I have no idea where to start. And I already know that once I start talking about something, it's gonna' bore you guys to death. In order to prevent that from happening I'll just give you guys a quick list of what happened in my life the past three months.

.- Events are arranged from most pleasant to least pleasant -.

  • I met two of the loveliest people on planet earth.
  • I got to spend time with the people mentioned above.
  • I met other great people
  • I got to spend time with them as well
  • I got to spend time with other great friends ( I know, I know, dull but hey that's how it is)
  • I was very inspired this summer.
  • I graduated.
  • I decided not to go to university but to look for a job in stead.
  • We got digital tv (including two weeks of free film-net)
  • I worked at a computer-shop for three days.
  • ... (These dots contain other awesome and less-awesome things that happened. But I just don't seem to remember them. Though I think the most important events are summed up.)
So, with all my peers gradually going back to college or university, I'm starting to sense a need for education. So today I went to the library and lent three books:

  1. Into the wild - Jon Krakauer (yes, again)
  2. Michelle Obama, a biography - Liza Mundy
  3. Amerika chooses a new president - Derk Jan Eppink
The reason I chose the first book is quite obvious, (if you are a loyal reader of my blog. If you are not, please read this post: klikken op deze handel! )

I chose the other two books to satisfy that need for education. I'm very interested in American politics, economics and history. I went sitting in a coffee-shop with the last book. And you can't imagine how much I've learned ever since. The author was talking about Iowa and its capitol 'Des Moines'. It was the state where the candidates for presidency in 2008 took off with their campaigns. When I came home I was curious about this city and googled it. Check this out:

And this for a city with a population barely reaching the number of 200,000?
Wauw.

I mean: even Charleroi is bigger.

Okay, I think I just gave you an overload of information.
And yes, you're welcome.
